Amen

We recently discovered this app. It’s perfect for that select group of people that we know and love well–the group with the strong opinion, incapable of keeping it to themselves. This is for the guy or girl who loves nothing better than to rant, share a little online hate, and maybe a little bit of love.

An incredibly simple idea: a chat room becomes ‘social therapy session’ with the help of the app Amen (great name).

Amen is simple. Voice your opinion about a person, place, or thing using a seriously heated argument about the pros and cons. Of course, arguments are likely to be more negative than positive so there is plenty of back and forth.

Follow your friends and your friends will (hopefully) follow you. If they like something you say they can say “Amen”. If they disagree, they say “Hell No!”

Amen adds up all the comments from each “discussion”. Democracy is what makes a discussion an Amen or Hell No. Arguments are ranked so you can see which have the most votes.

Amen is built by Felix Petersen, founder of Plazes. Amen launched in October out of Berlin. We think Felix Peterson must be semi-nerd, ‘cause if there ever there was an app built by nerds, for nerds–this is it. Statistical arguments. Hell yes. Amen.
